- QUOTATIONS – All quotations are given subject to the company having a suitable vehicle available at the time the hirer accepts the quotation.
- PAYMENT – Unless otherwise mutually agreed a deposit of £25 is payable on booking the coach with the balance due 14 days before the date of hire.
- CANCELLATION BY HIRER – In the event of the hirer cancelling the hire the deposit will be non returnable. The following cancellation charges will apply:
- Cancellation 14 days or more before date of hire- no further charge
- Cancellation 7-14 days before date of hire – 20% of hire
- Cancellation 2-7days before date of hire – 35% of hire
- Cancellation 1-2 days before date of hire – 50% of hire
- Cancellation on day of hire – 80% of hire
- CANCELLATION BY COMPANY – In the event of an emergency or an action by the Hirer to vary the agreed conditions, the company may return all monies and without further liability cancel the Contract.
- VARIATION OF HIRE – If the vehicle is detained by the Hirer or used for a longer journey than that contracted for, Stewart McNee Coaches will make an extra charge on a pro rata basis.
- DRIVER’S HOURS AND REST PERIODS – All hiring arrangements are made subject to the conditions of Stewart McNee Coaches Operators Licence . This includes the driver of the coach complying with Drivers Hours Regulations. Breaks that the driver will require should be taken in to account when planning journey times.
- SEATING CAPACITY – The maximum number of passengers allowed on the vehicle is indicated on the vehicle. No standing passengers allowed. Drivers will not carry any extra passengers over the seating capacity of the vehicle.
- CONDUCT OF PASSENGERS – The Driver is responsible for the safety of the vehicle. Any passengers whose conduct is in breach of statutory regulations will be removed on the Driver’s authority. The Hirer will be responsible for all damages caused to the vehicle by passengers during the hiring.
- ANIMALS – No animals will be carried on any vehicle , except Guide Dogs.
- ALCOHOL – Under no circumstances may alcoholic drinks be carried on or consumed upon the vehicle without the express permission of Stewart McNee Coaches in writing.
- SMOKING – All coaches are non smoking.
- CHANGE OF VEHICLE – Stewart McNee Coaches may provide a larger or combination of vehicles than the size hired at no additional charge. We reserve the right to contract another coach operator to complete the hire. When necessary a different coach may return a party from a destination to the one that took passengers out, also coaches may be used to perform other work during the waiting time at a destination unless the Hirer has expressed their wish in advance for a coach to stay with their party .
- ROUTE – Stewart McNee Coaches or the Driver will decide on the most appropriate route for the journey unless the Hirer has advised of a particular route or points of interest to be passed.
- BREAKDOWN/DELAY- Stewart McNee Coaches gives advice on journey times in good faith, but does not guarantee the completion of a journey at a specific time and will not be liable for inconvenience or loss caused by breakdown or delay.
- PROPERTY-Stewart McNee Coaches will not accept liability for any damage or loss of any property, which belongs to any passengers and is left on a vehicle. Any articles of found property recovered from a vehicle will be held at the office from where the vehicle is based and may be collected from there.
- COMPLAINTS – Stewart McNee Coaches will endeavour to make your journey with us as pleasant as possible however in the event of a complaint being received and not being remedied at the time the Hirer should submit their complaint in writing to Rhubaan, Toward, Argyll, PA23 7UA where it will be dealt with as quickly as possible.
Should the cancelled booking involve additional services, for example, meals, accommodation, ferry charges, etc, and the proprietors of these services make a charge of cancellation fees, these will be passed on to the hirer in addition to the cancellation fee already listed.
